How long will the BP100 run my dash cam?
The 32-hour figure is based on a single camera consuming 3W under test conditions. Your camera model, number of channels, parking mode, temperature and battery condition affect runtime. Use the app estimate for your setup rather than treating 32 hours as a guarantee.
Do I need to buy a hardwire kit as well?
Not for a compatible Type-C VIOFO camera using the supplied 4m parking-mode output cable. The battery also includes its own vehicle-side charging leads. Other camera connections need an exact compatibility check; do not add an HK6 to the BP100 output.
Which port supports parking mode?
Use the dedicated port labeled Output with the correct hardwire camera output cable. The USB-C port on the battery and the cigarette-socket output adapter provide ordinary power without the parking-mode ACC signal.
Can I use the cigarette lighter to charge it?
Yes. The 2m cigarette-lighter input cable is included, with a full-charge estimate of approximately 100 minutes. Check whether your vehicle socket turns off with the ignition. An always-powered socket can continue drawing vehicle power.
How does the hardwire installation stop charging while parked?
The BP100 charging lead uses constant power, ACC and ground. When correctly installed, the pack detects that ACC is off and stops charging from the vehicle. Use the manual and a qualified installer to identify suitable circuits and fuse taps.
Are two matching fuse taps included?
No. There is one tap of each of four supplied types. An installation using two circuits of the same fuse type needs an additional matching tap. Check the vehicle and chosen circuits before ordering.
Can I use it with BlackVue, Thinkware or an older VIOFO?
Do not assume the included Type-C cable fits or triggers parking mode on another camera. Check its voltage, connector and parking signal. A Mini-USB model needs its own suitable cable or an approved adapter setup. Ask us to confirm the complete connection for your exact model.
Can I reuse cables from a different battery pack?
The BP100 input and expansion connectors are not interchangeable with the BlackVue, BlackboxMyCar, Cellink or Thinkware battery cables described in our existing compatibility notes. Use cables specified for the BP100 and check any camera-output adapter separately.
Which app should I use now?
Use the current main VIOFO app. Battery monitoring has been integrated there, so the older separate VIOFO Battery app is no longer required. Update supported firmware before following the current setup guide.
Can I see the battery level away from the vehicle?
The BP100 monitoring connection is Bluetooth. You need to be nearby; the battery does not add cellular service or Cloud access. Readings pause when your phone is outside Bluetooth range.
Why can my new phone not connect?
The current app binds the battery to its first connected phone. Unbind it in the previous phone's battery settings, or follow VIOFO's procedure of pressing the battery power button five times quickly to reset its pairing. Then connect from the new phone.
How many expansion batteries can I add?
Use up to two EP100 units. One brings nominal stored energy to 196Wh and two to 294Wh. Check the expansion count in the battery app, especially with two units, so its capacity and time estimates are calculated correctly. Extra batteries also increase charging time.
Can I charge the BP100 through USB-C?
No. The USB-C port is output-only. Charge the battery through its dedicated input using the supplied hardwire or cigarette-lighter lead. USB-C can power a compatible phone at up to 5V/3A; that load reduces energy available to the camera.
What temperature limits apply?
The specified charging range is 0°C to 50°C. Charging pauses below freezing. Keep the pack dry, ventilated and out of direct sun. Its temperature protection and alerts do not make it fireproof or suitable for unrestricted heat; check the manual before installation.
Does it support 24V vehicles?
Yes. The specified input range is 11.8V to 28V, with support for suitable 12V and 24V systems. The camera must connect through the correct output cable, not directly to the vehicle supply.
What warranty comes with the battery?
The BP100 manual specifies an 18-month warranty from purchase. This is the battery's own stated coverage, rather than an assumption based on a dash cam warranty.
