Very happy with my cam. Front and back are very clear images. I'm still tweaking the settings but so far so good. I like this cam better than blackvue because it is clearer and works better in hot environments
Great product, no one sells additional mounting plates separately. So if you want to use in additional vehicle you either have to buy a whole system or scan and 3D print additional base. Boooo.
Thinkware u1000 works well. The software used to connect you phone to the device was a little difficult to get the wifi to connect via hotspot. But camera quality seem good. Wireharness seems robust. The adhesive to mount the camera seem to be very good.i will know more after the summer heat has it's way with it. Blackbox my car store was wonderful to deal with pleasant knowledgeable and matched a competitive store without any difficulty. I would recommend this store as a first stop to bring you up to speed for the right product.
I made a mistake and ordered the wrong camera. Fast communication and good service. Sent the camera back for a refund and the good one is on the way.
The dash cam work great but i cannot get access to the cloud did all the setting for WiFi hot spot all video show on
the phone camera app but not the cloud i did register the dash cam where do i put the cloud code on the dash cam app where is the setting for the cloud code.
Exactly what I was looking for. Picture quality and continuous/parking work and activate flawlessly. The wifi connection to the phone and hotspot setup can be frustrating but they do work - could be better especially at the price point but not a big deal overall as it does the job great.
My old dash cam from 2015 cam died and after my initial feelings of frustration, denial, and disappointment passed, I realized just how incredibly vulnerable I felt without one, so...after doing some research on prices, reputation, features, and reviews, I went with blackboxmycar's recommendation to get the FA200. I always find that installation manuals are...interesting because of translations, a lack of clear instructions, or being complicated. Thankfully, having the old dash cam stuff still in place (and a friendly neighbour) was a big help. Unless you are quite handy with installing things and know a bit about fuses and electricity, I'd recommend getting it professionally installed the first time around.
The size is not big at all and they give you extra mounting adhesive (which is nice - in case you move it to another car or need to move it). Note that the front video is 1080p while the rear is 720p. Not such a big deal, given that most potential issues would likely happen in the front. It also helps with data (see below).
I personally opted to get the glare reducing polarizing lense which, based on my limited observations, seems to minimize glare good but the installation instructions were horrible. I took off the covering tape and didn't know which side to install and you only really get one go at it. That said, don't let my personal complaint distract you. This is a very good entry dash cam and I'd recommend it.
It's neat that it records the audio and that you could, with a GPS tag, get location and speed data. The 16 GB memory card should suffice for daily needs, but you will likely overwrite your data very quickly (within hours if you go on a 2 + hour drive) so unfortunately, by the time you discover someone keyed your car or what not, it will likely have been overwritten. If you get this for a newer/expensive card, consider investing in a high memory card for that reason. It's awesome going over a hard bump and hearing the beep-beep, knowing that 10 seconds prior and afterwards to that have been recorded into an events folder on the card.
I'm still tweaking a variety of settings, including motion recording detecting when parking. It does well in this sense but if you parked in a busy area, it would likely eat up a lot of data. I'll likely tweak things more as I go along with it.
You can fidget with your dash cam via an app for smartphones, but you'll need to connect to your wifi each time. Not a big deal, as I am more comfortable doing it on my PC anyway. Honestly, I'm not one to really check things often, so that's fine too
I assume with better models, you could view your car while not being connected to wifi (e.g. you parked your car at a restaurant and wanted to see what was happening in front of it) but for my needs and I think, for the average person, it's good. You can also change language settings too, which could come in handy for others.
If you are concerned about getting better video quality or have an expensive car, I would suggest a higher quality model so you can get more details if need be, but for my 8 year old entry level car and for someone's first dash cam, you really can't go wrong with this. We'll see how it fares here in the winter (I live in southwestern Ontario and we can get up to -35 a few times every few years or so - this was a major concern I had, as I was trying to think about why my previous cam died so quickly) but I'm assuming it can handle it (manual says up to -20, I think).
As a reliable entry level dash cam, I recommend it for peace of mind and I would definitely consider this brand again for my next car. Who knows what a budget dash cam's quality will be then? Perhaps we'll have 16k quality? :D
I purchased four A129 Duos for the family fleet of cars. I’ve installed three of them and like them. The resolution is a bit lower than the reviews I looked at. I think when selecting WiFi mode one cannot go into camera settings, must use phone app. Downloading is very easy. I feel a good sense of security when driving.
Ordered on a Sunday arrived Tuesday thanks
Kit should be vehicle specific had to go and buy fuse taps online Toyota uses low profile mini fuses also the mount for camera should be horizontal so front camera mounts up tighter to mirrorr
Great video quality, simple setup and usability, Wi-fi feature is very useful,
Good service,I love blackbox my car👍👍👍
I placed my initial order, and then had to make a couple of changes. Each time BBMC never missed a beat and cheerfully accommodated my requests, including beating a price match request.
I purchased a Viofo Pro Duo after researching dash cams extensively, including others' reviews, and also watching BBMC's own YouTube videos. I'm very happy with the performance of the Viofo Pro, and you can't beat the price for the features and picture quality.
purchased the thinkware u1000 after watching numerous videos on YouTube showing its capabilities out in the real world and was impressed when I received it. I've tested some of it today and can say video quality is out of this world 🌎 . I have yet to hardwire it to take advantage of parking mode but I'm not entirely sure I have everything I need to hardwire it to my 2010 gmc sierra also never had a dashcam before so being a first timer its been interesting to figure things out i have yet to really see a detail by detail video of installation but I can say if you are in the market for a dashcam I highly recommend this despite its price.
With the hardwire kit, this dashcam had everything I needed for a professional looking installation. I hid the wire in the headliner and along the A pillar and the camera is behind the rearview mirror so it's very inconspicuous and doesn't affect my vision. I got this camera specifically because I heard it would beep continuously in case of a memory card error, which it does. It would be awful to have an accident only to realize your footage had not been saving for months. The footage is very clear and detailed with the high resolution. Menu has many good settings but is not complicated to use. I am very satisfied and feel safe driving with this dashcam.
Exactly what I was looking for. Install went pretty well however the front cable would barely reach had to re-run the cabling three times to make it reach.
Gotta have that long run time for parking mode on trips!
Powering dr900s-2ch and Dr750-2ch.
I went to the store in Richmond to buy my dash cam. He answered all of my many questions and was very helpful. I have already recommended to several of my friends.
In the beginning I was very nervous I was not sure if it will work for me I was not sure if I will buy it or not but I’m glad I did so far I have no problems at all it works very very good I’m very happy that I made that purchase looking forward in the future buying another battery and for the salesman he was very professional when I was talking to him and he explain everything I wanted to know he even sent me by email how to stylet I recommend this product to anybody And looking forward making more business with you guys thanks for everything sincerely yours you’re a new customer for life.
Purchased A Thinkware FA200(Front&rear), Celllink Neo Battery and all I was missing was a Spliced Output cable! Ordered it on your site and the Cable arrived on time and I successfully installed the entire system in My 2018 Vw Golf R.... Very happy with the end result and instruction on how to Hardwire the “Neo” was easy! Love the parking mode features of Thinkware and highly recommend this site for your Dash Camera needs...
Dash cam is super easy to install and both blackbox and blackvue make it very to install.
Before I purchased it, I was chatting with them and they helped me get the right product and accessories. The product arrived very quickly and the system is great.
Setup and install was so simple and easy, The recording while parked option is very useful if your car is parked where you can’t see It. Image quality is perfect.
It's super easy to install however I went with the hardwire to give it a clean install look. 4k in the front makes the image sharper than others that cost twice as much. 1080 in the rear is awesome. I love the parking mode to. This is packed with a lot of features.
So far the cam is exactly what I wanted. Nice
