Returns, Warranty & Exchange Policy
As North America's largest dash cam distributor, we go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. Here's how our warranty procedure works. Customer service is our top priority, so when you have an issue, it's our issue too.
Our Warranty Coverage
We provide warranty services and after-sales support only to customers in Canada and the U.S. who purchased directly from us at BlackboxMyCar. We do not manufacture dash cams sold on Amazon or any labeled "Black Box".
Please note that BlackboxMyCar is not responsible for lost packages sent to us. We offer free return labels only for dead-on-arrival (DOA) units if you contact us within 7 days of delivery.
For New Products
Warranty
All dash cams, battery packs, and microSD cards come with a 1-year limited warranty (unless otherwise stated) starting from the delivery date.
Dash cam accessories (unless otherwise stated) have a 6-month limited warranty that covers only manufacturer defects.
Exclusions
We do not cover:
- Damage caused by accidents, misuse, improper installation, water damage, or theft
- Any expenses related to removing or reinstalling the product
- Warranty void for products that have been altered, have had their serial numbers removed, or were not purchased from BlackboxMyCar
Out-of-Warranty Repairs
BlackboxMyCar is fully authorized to work with manufacturers, allowing us to offer competitive repair services for a specified fee.
Please note that not all dash cam brands are eligible for repair due to manufacturer limitations.
For Certified Products
At BlackboxMyCar Outlet, our products are in like-new condition and come with our 10-point inspection conducted by our in-house team. The items available fall into various categories, including clearance, refurbished, or open box. Please refer to the product page for specific details about warranties.
Clearance
Our clearance products are brand new items sold at discounted prices to clear inventory, accompanied by a 30-day warranty for any defects.
Refurbished
Refurbished products may show signs of wear, have been tested for functionality and defects, and may not include original packaging.
Each product comes with a warranty ranging from 1 to 12 months.
Open-Box
Open box products are like-new items that have been tested and certified.
They may not include original packaging and come with a standard manufacturer warranty.
Our Returns & Exchange Policy
We provide returns & exchange support to customers in Canada and the U.S. who purchased directly from us at BlackboxMyCar. We stand behind our products. If you're unhappy with your purchase, contact us within 60 days of the purchase date to initiate a return. Our return window applies to both new & refurbished products.
Please review your order carefully before submitting. We cannot guarantee that we can cancel your order once it has been confirmed.
Advanced Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)
Refunds
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used.
For gift card purchases, refunds will be issued as gift credits back to the original gift card.
Please allow 5-7 days for the refund transaction to be reflected on your account.
Notes
Missing Pieces:
Unless discussed, we will deduct from the refund accordingly.
Fleet & Wholesale Orders:
They will have a 10% processing fee for any returns or exchanges.
Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA):
Once your exchange request is approved, we'll send you a replacement unit in excellent working condition or better.
During peak season with increased volume, processing may take 10-14 business days after we receive your return.
Shipping Fees:
Please note that shipping fees will not be reimbursed for returns.
ShipInsure x AfterShip Package Protection & Free Returns
What ShipInsure Covers
ShipInsure is here to help with shipping-related issues that happen after your order leaves our hands.
If your package is lost in transit, marked as delivered but not received, or arrives damaged during shipping, you can submit a claim through the ShipInsure claims portal.
ShipInsure helps with:
- Packages lost in transit
- Packages marked as delivered but not received
- Items damaged during shipping
Approved claims are typically resolved through a refund or reshipment.
Refunds for Package Protection
If your order has not shipped yet, the ShipInsure Package Protection fee may be refunded.
Once your order has shipped, ShipInsure is already protecting the package and the Package Protection fee is no longer refundable.
What AfterShip Free Returns Covers
AfterShip Free Returns is designed to make eligible returns more convenient. Customers who purchase Package Protection + Free Returns can start their return online and receive a free return shipping label.
AfterShip Free Returns includes:
- A free return shipping label for eligible returns
- A 60-day return window from fulfillment
- An online return portal to start your return
What Do You Need Help With?
Lost or Damaged Package on Arrival
If your package was lost, marked as delivered but you did not receive it, or arrived damaged during shipping, please submit a claim through our ShipInsure claims portal.
Claims must be submitted within 14 days of delivery, and approved claims are resolved by refund or reshipment.
I Want to Return My Order
If you would like to return your order, you can start your return here.
Customers who purchased Package Protection + Free Returns receive a free return shipping label, and returns can be initiated within 60 days of fulfillment.

All products are covered by their respective manufacturer warranties, whether or not Package Protection + Free Returns was added at checkout.

Package Protection + Free Returns is optional and must be added at checkout. It cannot be added after your order has already been placed.

Amazon, Walmart, eBay & Best Buy
BlackboxMyCar products are available on various platforms, including Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and Best Buy. If you purchase from us, you’ll have access to our support staff, so feel free to reach out.
New items bought from us qualify for our in-house warranty, while most refurbished items will include a warranty card for third-party coverage. To ensure support for purchases on third-party sites, make sure the seller is BlackboxMyCar. Please have your order number or receipt ready when contacting us.
Please note:
- Return labels are only provided for DOA RMA warranty claims.
- Shipping fees from the original order are non-refundable.
- Any custom duties and taxes will be deducted from the refund.
- Allow up to 1 week for RMAs to be processed.
- During peak season with increased volume, returns may require 10-14 business days for processing once received.
