Downloading and Transferring Videos from BlackSys CH-100B with an iPhone or iPad

The BlackSys CH-100B is one of the most popular 2-channel dash cams on the market as it offers a great parking mode feature as well as WiFi connectivity. This WiFi feature can be used to download a video clip onto your phone for easier access that doesn't require taking the card or camera out of the vehicle. If you're interested in finding out more about the BlackSys WiFi app, check out our full walkthrough here. The following guide will talk about how to download and manage video files with your iOS device.

How to:

BlackSys iOS WiFi Download

The first step is to find the file you want and download it by clicking the small down arrow icon on the bottom right of the file. You should see a download progress initiate, after the download completes, you'll be able to find the file in the internal storage folder. In this menu, you'll see that you can play back these videos and sort them, however you can't actually share these videos on iOS. The reason is that they're recorded in a .AVI file format not supported by the native photos app on iOS.

Internal Storage

To retrieve one of these videos and transfer it to your computer, you'll need a USB cable for your iOS device and the iTunes software installed. Once iTunes detects the phone, click into the phone menu and go into the apps menu. From there, scroll to the bottom and you'll see a section called "File Sharing". Choose the BlackSys app and find the video file that you want and then click "Save to...". This will give you a prompt asking where you would like to save the files to on your computer's hard drive.

iTunes File Sharing

Once you complete this step, you can then do with the file as you wish on your computer. You can share it directly to YouTube, Dropbox, iCloud, etc.!
