Your hardwire kit may be labeled as HK3-C. This is normal and is the exact same hardwire kit as the HK4!

VIOFO USB-C Hardwire Kit

The VIOFO Type-C HK4 Hardwiring Kit is compatible with the following VIOFO models: T130, A139 Pro, A329, A229, A229 Plus, A229 Pro, WM1, and A119 Mini 2.

This hardwiring kit is not compatible with the following VIOFO dash cam models: A119 V3, A129 Duo, A129 Duo IR, A129 Pro Duo, A129 Plus Duo.

For the VIOFO VS1 Mini, this cable is compatible, however the fitment is not precise, and pieces of the metal plug will show.

NOTE: Fuse Taps are not included by default. If you would like them, select the "2 of each" option. The types of add a fuse that we provide, if selected, are: Low profile, Mini, Micro 2, and ATO. If you are not sure which fuse type you need, we recommend getting the "2 of Each" option.

 

Product Details

This Type-C HK4 Hardwiring Kit supports ACC detection, the dash cam will switch to parking mode automatically if the vehicle engine is shut off. The dash cam will switch into normal recording when the vehicle engine is on.

With adjustable voltage low voltage protection function, it will cut power to your dash camera when detect the vehicle battery voltage is below the set number. It has four voltage options 11.8V, 12V, 12,2V, 12.4V.

The Type-C HK4 hardwiring kit is 12/24V compatible.

How to Hardwire

Hardwiring involves wiring directly to the fusebox of your vehicle, connecting all 3 cables to the corresponding types.

Fuse Box Connections:

  • Black: Ground
  • Red: Battery, or constant power
  • Yellow: ACC, or switched power

BEWARE - Fuse taps NOT included

I ordered this kit thinking it included everything required to hardwire my Viofo. The fuse taps are NOT included! They expect you to order it separately which DOUBLES the cost of the hardwire kit.

The kit itself is low quality. The wires are not terminated with connectors so you have to be careful not to break any of the small strands of wires when you connect it to a fuse tap. You also need to purchase a crimping tool if you want it properly crimped down or else you risk the wires slipping out of the sleeve.

Kits from other brands do the right thing by terminating the wires with connectors AND including the fuse taps with corresponding connectors.

Avoid this kit and purchase from any other brand that has the connectors and fuse taps. It doesn’t have to be from the same brand. It is all the same because USB-C is one standard across any platform. Don’t let them fool you into thinking otherwise.

simple upgrade from the HK3

purchased a A329 as an upgrade to a A129 that the main camera quit on. The layout is basically identical to the HK3. I took the old out and placed the new in with no hiccups. Having the parking ability for my cam is super important to me so not having this was not an option. It's the typical high quality from Viofo.

This was a no brainer to install, I had one when I install my Viofo A129 Pro Duo so I knew that I wanted to install another one for my Viofo A229 Pro and I can tell you, this is the way to go if you want parking mode for you car truck.

Since I install one for my new Viofo A229 camera I know now that I wouldn't want to installed any camera in my truck. I have installed the one when I had my Viofo A129 Pro Duo, installing this was a breeze, I had a lot of practice with the old dash camera, I would advice anyone who have a dash cam to install one for their car or truck, it's just a piece of mind, install it and forget it, you will thank yourself later.
