Is the Q200 better than the F200 Pro?
Yes. The Thinkware Q200 is the upgraded successor to the F200 Pro. The main improvement is the front resolution: the Q200 records in 2K (1440p), while the F200 Pro was only 1080p. The Q200 also features newer Bluetooth pairing for easier app connectivity and improved Parking Mode efficiency.
Does this camera come with a hardwire kit?
Yes. This bundle includes the Hardwiring Power Cable, which is required to enable Parking Mode. It connects to your vehicle's fuse box to provide power while the engine is off. A standard 12V cigarette lighter power cable is also included for simple plug-and-play installation if surveillance is not needed.
Can I use an OBD cable instead?
Yes. If you prefer not to hardwire, you can purchase the optional OBD cable separately. This allows you to plug the dash cam directly into your car's OBD-II port for a simpler installation that still supports Parking Mode.
How does Energy Saving Mode work?
Energy Saving Mode puts the dash cam into a deep sleep state where it consumes minimal power. It only wakes up and starts recording when the G-Sensor detects an impact. This allows the camera to monitor your vehicle for days without draining the battery.
Do I need to install the GPS antenna?
We highly recommend installing the included GPS antenna. Without it, you will not receive the safety camera alert warnings (speed/red light), and speed data will not be stamped on your videos.
What size memory card is supported?
The Thinkware Q200 supports microSD cards up to 256GB. A 32GB memory card is included in the box to get you started, but we recommend upgrading to a 128GB or 256GB High Endurance card if you want to store more driving history.
