BlackVue DR770X-2CH Series II: Front and Rear Full HD Dash Cam

BlackVue DR770X-2CH Series II records the road ahead at Full HD 1080p and 60FPS, with a second Full HD camera recording behind you at 30FPS. Sony STARVIS sensors in both cameras help record in changing light, while built-in GPS adds location and speed data.

Use the BlackVue app nearby to adjust settings, check the view and download recordings. For remote checks when you are away from the vehicle, connect the camera to BlackVue Cloud through a suitable hotspot or the optional CM100G LTE module. This kit includes our 12-month BlackboxMyCar warranty.

Full HD recording in both directions

The front camera records 1920 × 1080 at 60FPS; the included rear camera records 1920 × 1080 at 30FPS. Both use approximately 2.1MP Sony STARVIS CMOS sensors.

At 60FPS, the front view shows motion more smoothly than 30FPS footage. Readable detail still depends on light, speed, distance, windshield condition and camera angle. Choose the front-only Series II kit if you only need the forward view.

Choose the right power connection for parking

The included hardwiring cable connects the camera to constant power, ignition-switched power and ground. With that connection, the camera can switch to parking mode when the ignition turns off. Motion detection records activity in view; detected impacts trigger event recordings. Time-lapse mode provides a faster overview of a parked period.

Set the voltage cutoff and parking timer in the BlackVue app for your vehicle and usage. These controls limit battery draw; parking duration varies with battery condition and camera settings. Recording stops when power is cut or the configured limit is reached. For parking power from a separate dash cam battery, compare the BlackVue B-130A with its compatible camera output. A battery pack is sold separately. Cloud use while parked also needs a working internet connection for the whole period.

Connect nearby through the BlackVue app

Built-in Wi-Fi connects the camera directly to your phone for local live view, playback, downloads and settings. Bluetooth supports pairing in the BlackVue app; it does not replace the Wi-Fi connection for video files. Built-in GPS records location and speed when enabled.

Mount and aim the camera before finalizing the wiring, then check its live view and an original recording on your phone. You can configure the touch sensor to save a manual event. Download important clips promptly instead of relying on them remaining on the memory card indefinitely. For a simple driving setup, use the supplied USB-C PD power cable and vehicle adapter, or a compatible vehicle USB-C PD 3.0 port. The camera end uses its specified DC connection. An ordinary USB cable is not a substitute, and BlackVue’s installation guide says USB-C power does not support parking mode.

Add an internet connection for remote access

Cloud features can include Remote Live View, event notifications, location tracking and event uploads. They need camera power, internet at the vehicle, a BlackVue account and the relevant service settings. Availability and usage limits depend on the selected Cloud plan.

The BlackVue CM100G LTE module is an optional way to provide that connection using a compatible activated SIM and mobile data plan. This dash cam has no built-in LTE modem. A suitable Wi-Fi hotspot is another option; a phone that leaves with you cannot keep the parked camera online. Normal recording to the microSD card does not need a Cloud subscription or mobile data plan. Remote access cannot retrieve new footage while the camera is off or offline. The app image is an illustration from the existing BlackVue material; its model label and interface may differ from your camera.

Manage recordings and memory-card space

The camera saves H.264 video in MP4 files and supports BlackVue microSD cards up to 1TB. Higher quality settings use more storage, and the two camera streams share the card. Loop recording reuses storage as it fills; copy footage you need to keep.

Use a card specified for this model and follow BlackVue’s formatting and maintenance instructions. Check our dash cam memory-card options for a suitable replacement. A built-in supercapacitor supports shutdown; it is not an internal battery for extended recording. BlackVue specifies an operating range of −20°C to 80°C and a high-temperature cutoff around 80°C. Keep the camera ventilated and remove its protective film during installation; it can shut down in excessive heat.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the 2CH package record?

It records Full HD 1080p at 60FPS in front and Full HD 1080p at 30FPS at the rear. Both cameras and the rear connection cable are included.

Does it use Sony STARVIS 2 sensors?

No. This model uses approximately 2.1MP Sony STARVIS CMOS sensors in both cameras. Do not confuse it with a 4K BlackVue model that specifies STARVIS 2.

Will 60FPS guarantee clear license plates?

No. It captures more frames per second than 30FPS and can make motion look smoother, but exposure, light, speed, distance and viewing angle still affect plate readability.

Can this kit record a third cabin view?

This package already includes its rear camera and connection cable. It is a two-channel system; adding a cabin view as a third channel is not a feature of this kit.

Is the hardwiring cable included?

Yes. The package includes the hardwiring power cable, as well as a USB-C power cable and vehicle adapter. Hardwiring needs suitable constant-power and ignition-switched circuits plus ground; use the installation guide and a qualified installer where needed.

Can it record in parking mode from USB-C power?

BlackVue’s Series II installation guide says the USB-C PD power cable and USB-C vehicle-adapter methods do not support parking mode. Use the included hardwiring cable or a compatible external dash cam battery for parking recording.

Does the supercapacitor power the camera overnight?

No. It is backup power for shutdown, not an internal battery for hours of recording. Parking recording needs an ongoing external power supply.

How long can it record while parked?

There is no single guaranteed duration. It depends on the power source, battery condition, temperature, connected accessories, recording mode and cutoff settings. With vehicle hardwiring, configure voltage protection and a timer; an external battery offers a separate power source.

Do I need the LTE module for Cloud access?

You need internet at the camera, but it can come from a suitable Wi-Fi hotspot or the optional CM100G LTE module with a compatible activated SIM and data plan. The camera does not contain an LTE modem.

Can I record without a subscription?

Yes. Local microSD recording and nearby app access do not require a Cloud subscription. Remote Cloud features require an account and internet connection, and some functions or usage levels depend on the Cloud plan.

Does Bluetooth transfer the recordings?

Bluetooth supports pairing. The built-in Wi-Fi connection handles local video access and downloads in the BlackVue app. Keep the phone nearby for a direct connection.

What memory-card capacity is supported?

BlackVue specifies cards up to 1TB. Use a compatible card and follow the manufacturer’s formatting guidance. The maximum capacity is not the size of the card included in every package.

Can I save an event manually?

Yes. The camera’s touch sensor can trigger a manual recording, depending on its setting. Check that setting in the app and copy important files before they can be overwritten.

Can the camera shut down in hot weather?

Yes. The manufacturer lists a high-temperature cutoff around 80°C. The operating-temperature specification is not a promise of uninterrupted recording in a hot vehicle.

What condition and warranty should I expect?

We test each unit through our in-house 10-point functionality check and supply it in like-new condition. All listed accessories are included. You receive our 12-month BlackboxMyCar warranty and normal warranty and returns policy.
