With dash cams getting more and more popular it’s much more apparent that we need a new way to power these cameras. The ever popular Cellink B has been used and suggested to many by professionals for it’s dependability and high capacity. Meet the Cellink NEO, the next generation of Cellink Batteries.

The NEO is an all new dash cam battery pack with an integrated smartphone app that lets you quickly see the battery percentage as well as power draw. There’s no need to look at the battery once it’s installed making it a lot simpler to use! Powered by LiFePO4 ( Lithium Iron Phosphate ) this power pack is designed with dash cams in mind. Able to provide up to 45 hours (up to 25 hours for the DR900S-1CH) of continuous power to your camera with a quick 45 minute charge this battery is something you can rely on.

The NEO features bluetooth technology, when paired with the app that’s available on iOS App Stores as well as the Google Play Store it’s super easy to see the read outs. The App itself gives out plenty of useful information. Overall Battery percentage, whether the unit is charging or discharging, how long it can power the camera for as well as how long it’ll take to fully charge. With these useful new features and extended battery times, it makes it easy to recommend the NEO as the ultimate solution for powering your Dash cam.

Power Duration

A Fully charged NEO can run a single camera for about 45 hours (up to 25 hours for the DR900S-1CH) while a dual channel system for about 25 hours (up to 15 hours for the DR900S-2CH) with it’s integrated 76.8Wh. However this is continuous run time, some cameras such as Blacksys and Thinkware have dedicated parking mode systems where it can run much longer than that.

We have tested out and in an optimal situation the NEO was able to power a Thinkware F100 2 channel camera in a vehicle for 2 days before discharging while in parking mode.

A Fully charged NEO can run a DR900S-1CH dash camera for about 25 hours while a dual channel system like the DR900S-2CH will be about 15 hours with it’s integrated 76.8Wh.

A Fully charged NEO can run a DR750S-1CH dash camera for about 28 hours while a dual channel system like the DR750S-2CH will be about 18 hours with it’s integrated 76.8Wh.

Cables Explained

Input Cables

Cellink Hardwire Kit: Allows the Cellink to charge at a higher rate of 9 Amps so it’s able to charge the battery in 45 minutes to full

Cellink 12V Cigarette plug: Easier for install however charges the unit with lower current of 5 Amps extended the charging time to 1hr and 20 minutes

Output Cables

Female Cigarette Socket Output: This should be used for BlackVue dash cams and other cameras that switch into parking mode using the G-sensor. These are cameras that switch into parking mode after your vehicle is parked for a few minutes. The BlackSys dash cams can also work with this output method if the "use external power" option is enabled.

Spliced Hardwire Kit Output Harness: This kit is designed to work with the BlackSys and Thinkware dash cams. The hardwire kit is pre-spliced by one of our technicians so that it will switch into parking mode based on the ignition. Thinkware dash cams will not switch into parking mode if the female cigarette socket is used. (*Note that the LG Innotek dash cams take a different 12V cable and will not work with this harness, email us if you want to order it with an LG hardwire kit)

Unspliced Hardwire Kit: If you already have a three wire (B+, ACC, Ground) hardwire kit, you can splice it into the Cellink output yourself. This is a good option for the DIY-ers out there

What is Parking Mode?

Parking mode is offered on most of the dash cams available at BlackboxMyCar. While it is important to protect your vehicle while driving, it is just as important to have your vehicle protected while it is parked. When the dash cam is in parking mode, footage will only be saved when there is an impact and/or motion. Parking mode can be enabled with a hardwiring kit or a battery pack.

What is a Hardwire Kit?

A hardwiring kit enables parking mode. It allows your dash cam to remain powered on even when the vehicle's ignition is turned off. Installation is a breeze as you will only need to find an accessory fuse, constant fuse, and a grounding point.

What is a Battery Pack?

Most customers purchase the battery pack to avoid using the vehicle’s battery to power their dash cam. The battery pack is charged by either being hardwired into an accessory fuse or by being plugged into one of the vehicle's 12-volt cigarette sockets. We recommend the hardwiring the battery pack as it charges the battery pack quicker.

Do I need a Rear Camera?
