Capture Everything from the Ordinary to the Spectacular
Advanced optical lens and an improved 5.14MP Sony STARVIS image sensor delivers strikingly clear video quality in 2K QHD @30FPS - you get sharper, higher quality video with key details like number plates being easier to see than with an HD camera. 140-degree viewing angle offers wide shooting coverage with minimal edge-to-edge distortion and Super Night Vision 2.0 technology reduces noise and enhances image quality in low-light conditions.
Award-winning Design with Rotating Camera
The Thinkware Q800PRO diverges from the dash cam norm by not including any form of screen or display. It is has more subtle design than most dash cams, hugging the windshield and fitting neatly below or behind the rear view mirror. Because it lacks a LCD display, the control available with the device itself is minimal - everything is controlled using the free smartphone app.
The camera housing is able to rotate approximately 90 degrees vertically, giving you the best view of the road, no matter the windshield angle and vehicle design.
Keeps Watch When You're Away
Energy Saving Parking Mode 2.0 takes energy saving efficiency to the next level. It uses ultra-low power, reducing power consumption by 1/3 less and giving you 3x longer video recording than typical parking mode, whether it is motion or impact detection. Buffered recording even includes the few seconds before and after the triggered event, so you get the complete picture.
When you own a Thinkware dash cam, you're in safe hands knowing your car is protected. Hit-and-run, accidents, insurance fraud? No problem - always be in the know with Thinkware.
NOTE: Certain makes/models of vehicles (BMW specifically) may require an extended hardwiring kit if the fuse box is located in the trunk. Please contact us if you need a hardwiring kit extension service.

Actually came out to the car and show me sample units.
Installed the front camera. Back camera usb cable too thick to fit into car cable tube. have to look for thinner cable.
Installation with the hardwired cable was pretty easy if you know your wiring in your vehicle and were to obtain a constant and switched power capability. My vehicle's radio connector has these capabilities so it was pretty straight forward. The rear facing camera cable was plenty long to reach the rear window. Locating the front facing camera was tricky as there is no left/right adjustment for the camera lens so if you want the captured image to be centered on the vehicle, the camera must be in the center of the window. On my vehicle, I have built in LDW (lane departure warning) and the built in camera is in the center of the window. Fortunately, I was able to attach the Q800pro to the plastic housing surrounding the LDW camera. My vehicle has a sliding rear window, so the rear camera needed to be off center, but still provided an acceptable view of the rear. The Thinkware cloud app installed without issue on my smartphone, but would not install on my Android car headunit, because the app will not run in landscape mode. I was able to easily connect to the camera via the built in WiFi hotspot on my smartphone and also setup my Android headunit as a hotspot and connect the Q800pro to the hotspot to receive location updates and event videos as required. The audio prompts from the camera upon startup notifies you if a parking event occurred and how many events. Continuous recording occurs in 1 minute file segments and is not configurable. I did not turn on any of the road safety features as my vehicle already includes these options. The recorded videos are clear and smooth. You can easilt stop the video to see license plate details etc. The center and hood gridlines in the app makes centering the camera easy. Gridlines are only available in the front facing camera. Upon starting the vehicle, the camera automatically connects to the Android headunit's hotspot, I monitored the amount of data being transmitted to the Thinkware cloud and is negligible as it appears only the GPS co-ordinates are transmitted regularly. I did set up a geo-fence and I do receive push notifications to my smartphone when the vehicle enters or leaves the geo-fence. You can setup multiple geo-fence areas in the app and adjust what type of alert you recieive. However, everytime the Q880pro connects to the internet via the hotspot, I receive notification that I have entered the geo-fence surrounding the current location of the vehicle. So if you have a geo-fence around your house, then you receive a notification everytime you start your vehicle at home and leave. You can connect to the camera via the app over the internet to view live video, but I am sure this would use considerable hotspot data to transmit the data. The firmware can be updated from the app to the camera.
I was intimidated but did the installation myself and hid the cord well. Was quick and easy. I know this is not 4K but I looked at online reviews beforehand and the data and night quality are both awesome along with the features. Plus I can add a compatible rear camera later.
