Thinkware U3000 Pro Interior Infrared Camera

Add a cabin view to your U3000 Pro for rideshare trips, fleet vehicles or everyday driving. This 1080p camera records at 30FPS with a 120° diagonal view and infrared illumination. It works alongside the Pro’s front and rear cameras without a Multiplexer Box.

A separate view of the cabin

Connect this camera to the Thinkware U3000 Pro 2CH to add the third recording channel. Its two 950nm infrared LEDs help illuminate a dark interior. Aim the lens to include the seats you need to monitor, then check a saved recording; the mirror, seat backs and passengers can still block part of the view.

The infrared sensors remain active, so daylight footage can have a purple tint. Thinkware identifies this as normal behavior. The interior camera has no microphone. Any audio comes from the front dash cam when its audio recording is enabled. This is the 120° U3000 Pro accessory. The standard Thinkware interior camera has a different connection and compatibility list. The original U3000 is not the U3000 Pro.

Set the USB-C port, then check a recorded clip

Back up footage you want to keep before changing the accessory setting. In Thinkware DASH CAM LINK, open Settings → System Settings → USB-C and select USB Camera. The dash cam restarts, and Thinkware warns that some continuous recordings may be deleted.

Connect the included 0.5m cable from the camera’s Micro USB port to the Pro’s USB-C port. Position the camera close enough for the cable to reach without tension, keep the driver’s view clear and remove the protective lens film. Use Thinkware adhesive cable clips where needed to secure the cable clear of airbags and moving trim. To check the angle, record a short clip and play it from LINK’s Interior folder. Interior live view is not currently supported. The cabin channel does not record in parking mode, and choosing it means giving up the Thinkware LTE Module connection while it is installed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this work with the original U3000?

No. This is the U3000 Pro interior accessory. The original U3000 and other Thinkware models use different accessory arrangements.

Can I keep my U3000 Pro rear camera connected?

Yes. The Pro can record its front, rear and this interior camera together without a Multiplexer Box. This listing includes only the interior camera and its cable.

Does it record the cabin while parked?

No. Thinkware specifies interior recording during continuous mode and explicitly excludes parking-mode recordings for this camera. Front and rear parking functions are separate.

Can I use the LTE Module at the same time?

No. The interior camera and LTE Module share the Pro’s USB-C accessory port. Choose cabin recording or LTE connectivity for that connection.

Why does daytime footage look purple?

Thinkware says the infrared sensors remain active, which can give daylight recordings a purple tint. This is normal for this camera rather than a conventional daylight color mode.

How do I set up the camera and check its angle?

Back up any footage you need. Thinkware warns that the setting change and restart can delete some continuous recordings. After setup, check an actual cabin clip and adjust the angle. Interior live view in LINK is not currently supported. Make a test recording, then open the Interior folder in LINK’s file list and review the saved clip.

Does the interior camera record sound?

It has no microphone. Sound is recorded through the front dash cam when audio recording is enabled there.
