Is the rear view Full HD?
No. The front records Full HD 1080p, while the included standard rear camera records HD 720p. Both run at up to 30FPS. This listing is not the IR interior-camera kit.
What do I need for parking recording?
Have a qualified installer connect the supplied Thinkware hardwiring cable and set battery-protection cutoffs and the recording timer for your vehicle. For a separate parking power reserve, we recommend our PowerCell 8 with the correct Thinkware-compatible three-wire output connection. The battery is optional. A socket-only connection does not provide the ignition signal required for parking mode.
Which parking mode records before an event?
Motion Detection keeps a buffer for detected motion and impacts. Time Lapse keeps a condensed 2FPS record. Energy Saving monitors for an impact and starts a clip after detection, so it does not provide a before-impact video buffer. The modes cannot operate together; choose the record you need and the power available.
Can I use my phone from anywhere?
The FA200 uses nearby Wi-Fi with Thinkware Dash Cam Link for viewing files and changing settings. This is a local camera connection. Check the current app requirements before purchase; streaming playback requires FA200 firmware 1.00.02 or later.
Does it include GPS or safety-camera alerts?
The external GPS receiver is a separate accessory. Compatible GPS reception and current regional safety-camera data are needed for location-based camera alerts. Alerts are a driving aid; stay attentive to the road and posted limits.
Will my recordings stay on the card?
New files can overwrite older files in the space assigned to each mode. Export important recordings promptly. Back up parking clips before changing parking-mode settings; that change deletes earlier parking recordings. Formatting erases the card, and the camera stops recording while you configure settings in the mobile viewer. Use a compatible Thinkware card up to 128GB and keep firmware current.
