Thinkware Exterior Infrared Camera

Record an exterior view on an RV, commercial vehicle or other supported installation with 1080p video at 30FPS and 940nm infrared illumination. This camera sends its footage to a compatible Thinkware front dash cam for recording and storage. This like-new Outlet item has passed BlackboxMyCar’s in-house 10-point check and includes the matching cable and adapter package.

An exterior view, day and night

The IP68-rated enclosure is designed for outside mounting. The camera records colour video in daylight, while infrared illumination helps show nearby surroundings in low light. Choose a clear mounting angle and check the saved recording before fixing the final position.

The included 2m camera lead and separate 20m connecting cable give you room to plan a long vehicle route. A supported Thinkware Q200 or another compatible host records the feed. Use the supplied matching adapter for U1000 Plus or Q850 installations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this camera record on its own?

No. It requires a compatible Thinkware front dash cam to record and store the video. It is not a standalone Wi-Fi camera.

Which front dash cams support it?

Thinkware lists Q200, F200 PRO, F790, X800 and X700, plus U1000 Plus and Q850 with the matching adapter. Both model-specific adapters are included in our package. Check the exact camera model and connector before ordering.

Do I need a Multiplexer?

A single accessory view can connect to a supported front dash cam’s extra-camera input. To retain several rear, cabin or side views at once, plan a compatible Thinkware Multiplexer system and its required cables. The additional Multiplexer views share one combined recording.

How much cable is included?

The camera has a 2m lead and comes with a separate 20m connecting cable, plus the U1000 Plus and Q850 adapters. Measure the intended route, including bends and room for moving doors or a hatch.

What can it show after dark?

Its 940nm infrared illumination helps capture nearby surroundings. Results depend on distance, angle, dirt, reflective surfaces and obstructions. Test a saved recording in the conditions you expect to use it.

Can I mount it outside?

Yes. The camera enclosure is rated IP68. Follow the installation guide for mounting and protecting connections, and secure wiring clear of moving or hot components.

Is the front dash cam included?

No. This package contains the exterior camera, its listed cables and adapters, three screws and an installation guide. The front dash cam and any Multiplexer are sold separately.
