Can I use OP100 in a hybrid or electric vehicle?
No. VIOFO specifies gasoline and diesel vehicles only. Hybrids, plug-in hybrids and EVs are excluded even when they have an OBD-II port.
Should I choose USB-C or Mini-USB?
Match the exact camera to the list in Specifications. A229 models use the USB-C parking cable; A119 V3 and the listed A129 models use Mini-USB. Contact us for an unlisted camera rather than relying only on the plug shape.
Does this bundle include the parking-mode cable?
Yes. Both offered bundles include the OP100 adapter and one selected camera cable. You do not receive both USB-C and Mini-USB leads.
Will it guarantee that my vehicle battery cannot run down?
No. The camera consumes vehicle battery energy while parked. The low-voltage cutoff limits further draw once its threshold is reached, but battery age, charge, temperature and other vehicle loads still affect starting.
Can I change the cutoff voltage?
The published OP100 thresholds are fixed at below 12V or 24V for the corresponding vehicle system. The adjustable switch sets the parking timer, not a choice of 11.8V and 12.4V.
Why does the camera turn off instead of entering parking mode?
Check that the correct OP100 parking cable is connected and a supported parking mode is enabled in the camera. A timer expiration or low-voltage cutoff can also stop power. Vehicle standby voltage affects detection; follow the camera and OP100 instructions.
Can I use the USB-C output to power the camera?
Use the dedicated USB-A output with the selected parking-mode cable for the dash cam. The extra USB-C port is provided for mobile devices and does not replace that connection.
Can a diagnostic scanner share the same port?
The OP100 occupies the OBD-II socket. Disconnect it when that socket is needed for diagnosis or service. This adapter is a power accessory, not a vehicle code reader.
Will OP100 work with every gasoline or diesel vehicle?
Confirm the exact vehicle and port wiring. Gasoline and diesel vehicles still need a diagnostic port and voltage behavior that suit OP100. Older vehicles and some commercial vehicles can use different diagnostic standards despite a familiar-looking socket. Check your model and year, then test the transition from driving to parking recording.
How does OBD parking detection differ from hardwiring?
Detection methods vary by cable. An OBD cable may use voltage changes, motion or timers, and some generate an ignition signal for the camera. A three-wire hardwire kit connects directly to the vehicle’s ignition circuit. Follow this cable’s instructions and test driving and parking recording after installation.
