Which Elite 10 kit should I choose?
Choose this kit for 4K front and rear road recording. For a front camera and infrared passenger-compartment camera, choose ELITE 10 CABIN. Their secondary cameras are model-specific and cannot be swapped between kits.
Does the rear camera support HDR?
No. HDR is supported on the front camera only. If HDR on both road views matters more than 4K rear resolution, compare the ELITE 9 with its 2K rear camera.
What do I need for parking recording?
The included hardwiring cable or a compatible battery connection. The supplied USB-C cable and vehicle adapter support driving only. Choose fuse connections and cutoff settings for your vehicle.
Which parking mode captures activity before an impact?
Motion Detection supports buffered event recording. Power Saving has no pre-impact buffer: it wakes after an impact and starts recording within about two seconds. Time Lapse provides a continuous 1FPS overview.
How long will it record while parked?
Runtime depends on available battery capacity, cutoff settings, temperature, recording mode and events. The below-1mA figure is Power Saving standby draw, not active recording power use.
Do I need a subscription to use the app?
No cellular subscription is needed for nearby Wi-Fi access. Remote Cloud access needs internet at the camera, a BlackVue account and an appropriate service plan. A cellular connection also needs compatible optional hardware and a data service.
How much footage fits on the included card?
About two hours of dual-camera footage on the included 64GB card at the default High setting. BlackVue estimates 34 hours 20 minutes on a compatible 1TB card at that setting. Higher bitrates reduce retention. A 1TB card is supported, not included.
Should I use H.265 or H.264?
Use H.265 for the highest front-camera bitrate, or H.264 for playback compatibility. Try a downloaded clip on your phone or computer before choosing; higher bitrates use storage faster.
Are protected event files permanent?
No. Up to 50 event files can be protected from normal overwrite, but formatting deletes them. Keep a separate backup of important footage.
Can it keep recording in extreme heat?
It may stop to protect itself. The operating range ends at 65°C; the approximately 75°C thermal cutoff is not a continuous-use rating.
What warranty comes with this kit?
This new BlackVue dash cam has a two-year manufacturer warranty.
