What is the difference between the DR970X-2CH LTE Plus and the DR970X-2CH LTE Plus II?
The DR970X-2CH LTE Plus II is a significant upgrade. It features the new Sony STARVIS 2 sensor for better dynamic range, a brighter lens, faster boot-up times, and support for 1TB cards. The previous model (LTE Plus) used the older sensor. The LTE Plus II also has a longer buffer for Parking Mode.
Do I need a separate hotspot for Cloud features?
No. The DR970X-2CH LTE Plus II has built-in LTE. You simply need to insert a compatible Nano SIM card with a data plan into the camera's SIM slot to activate BlackVue Cloud features like Remote Live View and push notifications.
Which SIM cards work with this BlackVue?
This is the North American version, compatible with carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, Rogers, Telus, and Bell. It supports LTE Bands B2, B4, and B12. Verizon is not typically supported. This built-in capability makes it the easiest 4K Cloud dashcam to set up.
Does this camera record when I am parked?
Yes. The BlackVue comes with a hardwiring kit included. When installed, it enables Parking Mode to monitor your vehicle. It will record impacts and motion using the front and rear cameras, and automatically shut down if your car battery voltage gets too low.
Is the rear camera also 4K UHD?
No. The 4K UHD front camera records using the STARVIS 2 sensor, while the rear camera records in Full HD (1080p) using a standard Sony STARVIS sensor. This balance ensures premium front clarity where it matters most while keeping file sizes manageable on your MicroSD card.
Can I view the footage remotely?
Yes, if you have an active SIM card installed. You can open the BlackVue App from anywhere to see a live view of your car, receive alerts if someone hits your parked vehicle, and even download video clips to your phone over the LTE network.
Does it come with a memory card?
Yes, a 64GB BlackVue card is included in the box so you can start recording right away. However, for 4K recording, we recommend upgrading to a larger card (up to 1TB) to store more footage from your DR970X-2CH LTE Plus II.
