Thinkware ARC900: 4K Front + 2K Rear Touchscreen Dash Cam

The Thinkware ARC900 pairs a 4K front camera with a 2K rear camera and puts live view, playback and settings on a 3.5-inch IPS touchscreen. Both cameras use Sony STARVIS 2 sensors. It suits drivers who want to check recordings directly on the camera as well as through a nearby phone.

Choose 4K front + 2K rear at 30FPS, or switch both views to 60FPS at lower resolutions: 2K front + Full HD rear. The supplied hardwire cable supports parking recording when installed correctly. Optional radar and LTE accessories add separate functions without changing the two-camera coverage.

Choose resolution or smoother motion

The Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 front sensor and IMX675 rear sensor record 4K front + 2K rear at 30FPS. Choose 2K front + Full HD rear at 60FPS for smoother motion. Check a saved clip after aiming both cameras; lighting and movement still affect visible detail.

For a screenless alternative with radar built into both cameras, compare the Thinkware U3000 Pro two-channel package. The ARC900 instead has a touchscreen and accepts a separate radar module.

Check the image on the 3.5-inch touchscreen

The 3.5-inch IPS touchscreen lets you adjust camera angles, change settings and play saved footage while parked, without connecting a phone for routine checks.

Dual HDR balances bright and dark areas in continuous driving recordings. Super Night Vision 4.0 is a separate setting for driving, parking, or both. HDR and Night Vision cannot operate together; selecting Night Vision for driving disables HDR. Try the settings on your usual route and review the results.

Match parking mode to your power supply

Choose Motion Detection for buffered movement and impact clips, Time Lapse for 2FPS recording, or Energy Saving for recording after an impact. The optional radar module can wake the camera before an impact; an impact must follow for that recording to be saved. Back up parking files before changing modes because the previous mode’s files are deleted.

The included hardwire cable needs correct BATT, ACC and ground connections, plus suitable battery-protection and timer settings. A PowerCell 8 dash cam battery pack with Thinkware-compatible output wiring is another parking-power option. Runtime depends on settings, activity, temperature and available charge.

Understand the temperature and power limits

The supercapacitor supports safe shutdown; parking recording needs external power. Keep the ventilation clear and both cameras inside the vehicle. Smart Parking can switch to low-power, impact-only recording when the cabin gets too hot; the operating range is −10°C to 60°C.

Built-in GPS adds location and speed information, safety-camera alerts where data is available, Front Vehicle Start Alert and Traffic Light Change Alert in US and Canada. Follow the camera-alignment instructions. These reminders do not drive or brake the vehicle.

Use Wi-Fi nearby; add LTE for remote access

Use 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi with Thinkware DASH CAM LINK for nearby playback and settings. Remote access needs optional LTE hardware, its cable, a SIM and suitable data service through Thinkware CONNECTED. Live view, notifications and backup depend on the plan, coverage and camera power.

For LTE setup, select LTE Modem in the USB-C settings and register the camera in DASH CAM LINK before Thinkware CONNECTED. USB-C also supports direct file access with a suitable data cable and compatible phone or adapter; recording stops during that access. The manuals and setup video below explain the process.

See the camera and plan the installation

This Thinkware video introduces the ARC900 cameras, touchscreen and parking features. Radar and LTE modules are optional; use the package list below to confirm what comes with this listing.

A 64GB Thinkware card is included, with support for Thinkware cards up to 512GB. Export important recordings regularly. Our dash cam installation guides help you plan cable routing clear of airbags and moving parts; use an installer if you need help identifying fuse circuits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can both cameras record at 60FPS, and can I use HDR with Night Vision?

The highest-resolution pair is 4K front + 2K rear at 30FPS. At 60FPS, the front records 2K and the rear Full HD 1080p. Both use Sony STARVIS 2 sensors. Front and rear HDR work only in continuous driving mode; Night Vision cannot operate with HDR, and selecting it for driving disables HDR.

What comes with the camera, and how should I install it?

The front camera has the 3.5-inch touchscreen; the supplied rear camera records through the rear window, not the cabin. A hardwire cable, cigarette-lighter cable, 64GB card and 6m rear cable are included. Plan cable routing around trim and the tailgate. Correct constant-power, ACC and ground connections and battery-protection settings are required for parking recording from the vehicle battery.

Which parking modes record before an event?

Motion Detection saves 10 seconds before and 10 seconds after movement or impact. Time Lapse captures 50 seconds before and 50 seconds after an impact at 2FPS, saved as a 20-second playback file. Energy Saving without radar begins after impact detection and records for 20 seconds. Choose one mode at a time and back up parking files before changing modes; the previous mode’s recordings are deleted.

Does radar save every passing object, and what happens in hot weather?

The optional radar wakes the camera from Energy Saving, but an impact must follow for a recording to be saved. With no impact it returns to Energy Saving. Smart Parking thermal protection can switch Motion Detection or Time Lapse to low-power, impact-only recording when the cabin gets too hot. The operating range is −10°C to 60°C; external power is required, and the supercapacitor is not an overnight battery.

Can I monitor the car remotely or copy files through USB-C?

Ordinary Wi-Fi is for nearby DASH CAM LINK access. Remote access uses the optional TCM-LTE module and cable, SIM and suitable data service through Thinkware CONNECTED; plan limits, coverage and camera power apply. Register in DASH CAM LINK first and select LTE Modem in the USB-C settings. Direct USB-C file access instead needs a data cable and compatible device or adapter, and stops recording while connected.

Which memory cards are supported, and what driver alerts are available?

The manual lists Thinkware 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB microSD cards and does not guarantee third-party card compatibility. Front Vehicle Start Alert and Traffic Light Change Alert in US/Canada are supported after camera alignment. They are reminders, not a substitute for watching the road.

How does this compare with the U3000 Pro, and what warranty applies?

The ARC900 offers a touchscreen and optional external radar; the U3000 Pro is screenless with radar built into the front and rear cameras. Check the exact package and power accessories when choosing. A new ARC900 has a one-year manufacturer warranty under Thinkware’s North American policy; keep your purchase receipt. For this special-order listing, allow 7–10 business days of handling before shipment; transit time is additional.
