Looks Like new

Looks Like new. Packaged like new. Awesome warranty,. My 3rd Blackvue dash cam, started with dr650 2ch, then 900 2ch and now the 970x lte refurbished.

Thanks for the review, William! We really appreciate your continued support across multiple BlackVue upgrades. Glad to hear your refurbished DR970X LTE arrived like new and met expectations.

As Xpected

Although, only having this dash camera for a few weeks. The camera has functioned as expected. I have since recorded several incidents that could be used to help multiple individuals. I could have tried and install the cameras myself however wanting to make sure that this is completed correctly. I had a professional conduct the installation taking into account the side curtain airbags and the removal of the platic doorsill to conceal the wires for a seemless install.
I also had a difficult time getting an answer from any of the forums as to what fuse amperage should be used if you have an open fuse slot that is being used as the installation camera hardwire point. The installer indicted you would use a fuse amperage to protect the camera which is usually between 3 and 5 Amp depending upon the camera. But the camera can help you with this aspect.
The only fault I found with the camera thus far is with the app and connecting to the camera unless I'm in the vehicle. The app requires significant work to make it stable and improve the connectivity. To improve the camera rating when taken as a whole the APP must be improved otherwise you are selling a half completed system. With the improvement of the App I can see my review going from 3 🌟 to 5 🌟. Without this improvement I suspect the rating review will not go beyond a 3 star rating. The night recording is quite clear given the minimal ambient lighting. I have included the rear view camera on of a nightly drive. I have also included several photos of the installation as well.
Now to the retailer who was very good with filling and shipping my order in a timely manner, which allowed me to have the new dash camera checked for functionality and installed ASAP.
Once again this rating could have been much higher if the App functioned as expected. But unfortunately there is much work to be conducted on that front to bring the overall camera rating up.

Really bad customer support experience

My new 970x Plus 2 Channel was never able to get a GPS signal since day one. The first interaction was pretty good, gave suggestions on what to try: flash firmware on PC, and outside of the car under clear sky to make sure it gets the best chance. And told me to report back if it didn't work, so I can get a replacement unit.

The second support agent (Luke) was a whole different story. He just kept telling me that I need to try cloud connections to get the GPS working, even though I mentioned that GPS isn't related to the cloud features. But I went with it just to get things moving. So I registered a free trial, connected the dashcam to the cloud, and of course it didn't fix the GPS issue. Then he started telling me that I need to use the SD card that came with the dashcam, because a third-party SD card can cause the GPS to not function.

I'm appalled by the lack of knowledge of this support agent. Sadly, since there is no review for the support agent included on the website, I have to leave the review here for the product.

Simple and solid

I purchased this to replace my previous 7-year-old BlackVue camera. The construction feels rugged and well built, and I was able to reuse most of my old hardwire set-up for this camera so installation was quick and easy. It actually took me far longer to loosen the adhesive enough to remove the old camera from the glass than the time it took me to install and set up the new one.

Once running, I'm impressed by the image quality and clarity of this new model. Plates and details are fairly crisp even at night. It's probably a good idea to upgrade the SD card to a larger size though as the included SD card will only store about 3 days worth of combined driving and parking mode footage at the highest quality for me.

Unlike my old camera where it was possible to adjust the length of each clip, it seems the new BlackVues will only record in 1 minute clip intervals which is slightly annoying since it results in A LOT of clips that you need to sift through and sometimes would cut an event that you're trying to review into multiple files, which means a lot of jumping back and forth. That's about the only gripe I have and personally it's not enough for me to take off a star, although I wish they would restore the ability for the user to adjust clip length in the future.

Fantastic Dashcam! Mobile App Needs Some Work

I've had the dashcam installed for about 2 weeks and it's given me an added sense of security/insurance for my car. The quality is crystal clear during the day and the night quality is okay compared to other cameras. Parking mode is an added bonus.

Installation was fairly straight-forward, just tedious especially hiding the extra wires for that clean look. Only gripe is the Blackvue app. The initial pairing is easy via app, however, the interface itself is very clunky and not really intuitive. There is a desktop version of the app which you can also take out the SIM card, plug it to your PC/Mac and make your updates there as well. There are additional accessories for the cloud/LTE connectivity, but for my personal use, not really needed.

Apart from the app, the DR900x Plus is worth every cent. Capabilities are definitely beyond what I thought in a dashcam.

Great product.

While I am pretty computer savvy the only thing that could make things better is if the cards came formatted. It’s not a huge issue but from a customer service point of view. The website and app downloads are futzy and having the camera restart as it can’t see the memory card is annoying while doing the install. I get the larger non BackVue cards wouldn’t come formatted. But the BlackVue ones should. In that note Apple/Mac users: your computer will suggest a different format rather than Fat when you go into disk utility to format it. Don’t trust the Mac, I know right?, format it to FAT. Works well happy with the purchase if you’re going to be in park mode for longer than a weekend save yourself the trouble and install a backup battery. This little bugger is hungry, power wise, and a one and done instal is better than twice. The battery protect works well and won’t damage your start by going too low but…

Fortunate to find this place to purchase my replacement dashcam

I had spoken to Blackboxmycar.com when I installed the old DR650GW years ago. I didn't buy the dashcam from them at the time, but they were helpful. So, now when I'm ready to upgrade to DR900X+, I gave them a call and found that they have the best price anywhere. Best of all, shipping was free and took 2 days! I couldn't imagine shipping from Vancouver, Canada to the Midwest in 2 days, but it did. Installation was a little different with the new cam but again, they were helpful. The DR900x+ video clips are much clearer than the DR650. I can actually make out lic. plates. I'd recommend BBMC.COM for dashcam needs.

Just purchased and installed the Blackvue DR900X - 2CH+ and couldn't be happier with its operation and quality picture. Very easy to install and use.

I did it myself and it is not hard but not easy

I watch a lot of videos on the site and I settled on the DR900 x Plus 2ch. I thought it was going to be hard to install and easy to configure but it was very easy to install and just a little bit difficult to configure.

I have to give black box my car high marks for customer service. If you write to them they write back to you quickly and if you call them you can get through to someone. They try very hard to help you and send you links to videos which are designed to help you.

Liza was very nice to me and helped me a lot. (Thanks Liza)

If all customer services this good the world would be a better place

My car has a 48 V battery that's been giving me problems and I was nervous about tapping into the fuse box. It's a 2021 Mercedes station wagon. I ran the wires up under the top of the windshield, over the a pillar and then under the door rubber to the B pillar and then above the back door rubber and down the side into my station wagon back. There is a cigarette lighter adapter there.

I bought an eight cell battery from the same company and I plugged the cigarette lighter into the eight cell battery and then the eight cell battery into the cigarette lighter in the back of my car.

It works great under parking mode but if I'm going to leave the car a long time I have to remember to turn off the battery so it doesn't go dead. I'm starting to wonder if it matters if it goes dead and I think I'm going to experiment with letting it go dad to see what happens.

It would be much easier if the camera had an on-off switch but that's not for me to say.

The new way of connecting your phone to the camera is really easy. It's easy to walk through you can follow the video that BPM C sends you.

There's all sorts of ways to configure the camera. I had to play with a while but I figured it out and it really helped to watch all of the videos.

The cloud is a whole different issue. Part of the reason I bought the BlackVue is because of the cloud feature that I still have available to get the cloud feature to work correctly. I admit that I'm using a wireless hotspot and the black view company sells their own wireless hotspot but I already have one.

I think I finally figured out (with the help of Andrew and BlackVue) that if you turn off the car and turn off the battery and then turn on the wireless hotspot and then turn the car on and the battery on that it will connect to the cloud. However if you turn on the car and then turn on the wireless hotspot it doesn't seem to work or at least it hasn't for me.

The cloud thing has been very frustrating for me.

I bought the camera in case of an accident so I imagine if I have an accident I will pull the SD card out and have video to show the police or insurance company and even though I can't get the cloud to work I'm confident that the images will be there.

A colleague of mine saw that I had this camera and said to me I wish I'd had this camera because somebody ran into me the other day and drove off and I have no idea who they are.

Easy install, easy to use.

It took a few tries to get the perfect location to not block my view and access the sd card, but it went pretty smooth. Using the phone to set it up made it much easier to access and show files to others. Pretty important if you are on the side of the road and need to use the video clips for evidence after a crash. This replaced another camera that was hard to access.

Video quality is the great

Dealing with Blackvue directly is pretty pointless, however blackboxmycar was able to answer my questions.

Pros:
easy to install, quality parts, instructions, video quality and fit.

Cons: app, cost, up charge cloud service and switching from normal to parking mode.

I installed the DR900X 2 CH on my 2021 Yukon. Plenty of wiring to do the job. Mounted the rear cam to the cargo dome light and works perfectly. I have the B-124X hardwired into the fuse panel using a micro 3 fuse block and fuse into the accessory fuse for the USB’s. I had to order a micro 3 add a fuse from Amazon because it was not supplied. The cams are hardwired into the B-124X and everything works as expected. Getting the sensitivity settings set is key to optimize parking and normal modes. The app, functions within the app, the back and forth connecting your phone to the camera is frustrating as well as the option to pay more money for additional cloud services.

I would definitely buy this product again and recommend it even with the things I don’t like. The video quality is excellent and setup is very easy.

Great Dashcam

After owning a BlackVue DR600 for 5 years I figured it was time to upgrade and I'm glad I did. I ordered the Blackvue DR900X - 2CH and it came surprisingly quick considering covid and so close to Xmas. Although the two cameras look almost identical they aren't, the power and mount are different so I quick uninstall and re-install and onto testing. The transfer speed due to the addition of 5Ghz was a welcome option and I also opted for the 2 channel. I installed the DR900x in my MDX which is a SUV making the rear camera a bit more tricky to install. I wanted the cable running through the OEM grommet so after a bit of work I was able to keep the wires totally hidden as seen in the pictures. The 4K front camera is crystal clear and I was happy using a 256 gb card as my old one only took a 128 gb card.
Unfortunately the camera release button located in the mount seemed to be faulty. I talked with Katrina at BBMC who was very helpful and pleasant and had no problem providing me with a new one.
Appreciate the great service!

Hi Ryan, thank you for leaving a review and for shopping with us! Sorry for the minor inconvenience, but glad Kat was able to help. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Great Product + Great Service = Great Buying Experience

I knew I was ordering a backordered product, but it shipped and arrived 2 weeks sooner than I expected. Their website was a great source of information making the purchase decision and the installation very easy. Very pleased with this BlackVue DR900X 2CH. Thankyou BlackboxMyCar Canada for your help.

Hi PK, thanks for leaving a review! Yep, we got lucky and we got the units in sooner than expected luckily. Glad you didn't have any issues with the installation!
