VIOFO MT1 Front & Rear Motorcycle Dash Cam

The VIOFO MT1 uses two compact cameras and a separate recorder to capture the road ahead and behind your motorcycle. Both views record at Full HD 30FPS. A wired remote gives you recording controls, while local Wi-Fi and the included GPS module let you review clips and recorded route information.

This package includes normal returns and a 12-month warranty. The contents and original IP66 rating listed here apply to this offer.

Front and rear recording for your motorcycle

The MT1 records both cameras at 1920 × 1080 and 30FPS, with a 170° view at each end of the motorcycle. The two Sony 2.13MP sensors use WDR to balance brighter and darker parts of the image. This is Full HD recording, not a 4K or HDR camera system.

Each camera saves its own video file on the card in the main recorder. Mount and aim both lenses while the motorcycle is stationary, then inspect saved footage to check that bodywork, luggage or cables do not block the view. Lighting, vibration and speed still affect readable detail.

Weather resistance with a secure installation

This MT1 listing carries the original IP66 water-and-dust-resistance specification. Use it for mounted motorcycle recording in changing weather, with the connectors fully seated and the card cover secured. IP66 does not mean the system is suitable for underwater use.

The manual places the main recorder inside the motorcycle, such as beneath the seat. Secure the recorder and cameras, leave enough cable movement for steering and suspension, and keep cables clear of hot or moving parts. Check the lenses after a wet or dusty ride. Remove loose grit before gently wiping with a clean microfibre towel.

Ignition-controlled power and a wired remote

The included power lead connects to a 12V DC motorcycle supply, ground and an ignition-switched ACC signal. The MT1 starts recording when the ignition signal turns on and shuts down when it turns off. It has no dedicated parking mode, and a car-camera HK4 or HK5 kit is not an MT1 upgrade.

The wired remote provides a manual recording button, Wi-Fi button and status LEDs. Mount it within reach without obstructing the motorcycle controls. The included GPS module also connects to the main recorder by cable.

Have a qualified motorcycle technician follow the MT1 wiring diagram. The manual identifies black as ground, blue as ACC and red as constant power. The supercapacitor helps save the last file after power stops; it cannot run the system independently.

Local playback, GPS and memory-card care

Connect a nearby phone to the MT1’s 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, then open the VIOFO app for preview, settings and downloads. The GPS module records route, speed and time when it receives a signal. This connection does not offer internet-based remote viewing or live motorcycle tracking.

A VIOFO 32GB card is included in this package. For more space, choose a compatible high-endurance microSD card up to 256GB. The manual specifies FAT32 formatting. Back up important files before formatting, power the camera off before removing the card, and verify a new recording afterwards.

Loop recording replaces older ordinary files when space runs out. Copy important clips promptly to your phone or computer. The memory-card slot is in the main recorder, so allow access to it when planning the installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What condition is this unit in?

BlackboxMyCar Outlet products are tested, like new and backed by our in-house 10-point check. This unit includes a 12-month BlackboxMyCar warranty and our normal return policy.

Does the MT1 record front and rear at the same time?

Yes. Both cameras record Full HD 1920 × 1080 at 30FPS. Each has a 170° view, and the front and rear clips are saved as separate files on the card in the main recorder.

Is this MT1 waterproof?

This listing specifies IP66 water and dust resistance, consistent with the original MT1 specification. Keep connectors and covers properly secured and mount the recorder as instructed. It is not an underwater camera; the listing does not claim the IP67 rating now shown on VIOFO’s new-stock page.

Does the MT1 have a parking mode?

No. The MT1 is designed to record with the ignition on and shut down when the ACC signal turns off. Its time-lapse setting is a recording option, not an automatic parking-surveillance mode. The included motorcycle power lead is required; adding a car-camera hardwire kit does not add parking mode.

How is the MT1 powered?

It uses the included lead connected to the motorcycle’s 12V DC supply, ground and switched ACC circuit. Have a qualified technician follow the exact MT1 wiring diagram and confirm the circuits. The main unit is not powered by a rechargeable internal battery or a USB car-camera cable.

Can I watch footage remotely or track the motorcycle?

No. Wi-Fi works with a nearby phone for setup, playback and downloads. The included GPS module records location and speed with footage; it does not transmit the motorcycle’s live location. There is no LTE or cloud connection.

What comes with this package?

The package includes the main recorder, front and rear cameras, wired remote, GPS module, plastic camera mounts, power cable, card reader adapter, VIOFO 32GB card, mounting adhesive and Velcro pads. The current downloadable manual is linked below. A larger card is optional.

What memory-card size and format should I use?

The MT1 supports compatible microSD cards up to 256GB and includes a 32GB VIOFO card here. The manufacturer manual specifies FAT32. Back up needed footage before formatting, switch the MT1 off before removing the card, and regularly inspect saved recordings.

Does it support voice control or a wireless remote?

The included MT1 remote is wired and provides recording and Wi-Fi controls with status LEDs. It is not the BTR200 Bluetooth accessory used by other VIOFO cameras. The MT1 has no voice-command controls or built-in display.

How do I update the MT1 firmware?

Download firmware only from the official MT1 support page. Follow its FAT32 card and update instructions, back up clips first and keep power stable during the update. Check the camera settings and both saved video streams afterwards. Firmware for another VIOFO model is not interchangeable.
