BlackVue SIM Cards for LTE Dash Cams

Learn how a data SIM keeps compatible BlackVue dash cams connected to BlackVue Cloud while you are away from your vehicle.

A compatible BlackVue LTE dash cam or LTE module uses a 4G data-only nano SIM to reach BlackVue Cloud when the vehicle does not have another internet connection.

The SIM provides the cellular connection. BlackVue Cloud provides remote viewing, alerts, location data and video access; the available features still depend on the camera, Cloud plan, carrier and coverage.

What is the BlackVue SIM Card?

BlackVue LTE systems use a nano SIM to connect the dash cam to a supported cellular network. Some models have an integrated SIM slot, while compatible cameras use the external CM100G LTE module. Once the camera has a working data connection, the BlackVue app can connect it to supported Cloud features.

Confirm the carrier, SIM type and frequency support before activating service. Network compatibility differs by camera, LTE module and country.

How do I use the SIM Card for the BlackVue Cloud?

  1. Confirm that the dash cam or LTE module supports your carrier and a 4G data-only nano SIM.
  2. Activate the SIM with the carrier, then insert it while the camera or module is powered off.
  3. Power the system on and use the BlackVue app to register the camera and complete the Cloud connection.
  4. Test Live View and notifications before relying on the connection away from home.

Which Current BlackVue Products Use a SIM?

Current routes include the BlackVue DR970X LTE Plus II with built-in LTE, or a compatible Cloud-ready BlackVue paired with the CM100G LTE module. Compatibility is not universal, so verify the camera model and region before ordering.

What are the BlackVue SIM Card's LTE Data Plans?

Data allowances and prices can change. Check the BlackVue app or your chosen carrier for the current plan, coverage and usage limits. Remote Live View and frequent video transfers use more data than alerts or location updates.

Will purchasing and subscribing to a SIM Card data plan allow me to use the BlackVue Cloud Account without restriction?

No. The cellular plan supplies internet data, while the BlackVue Cloud account controls Cloud features and service limits. Review both plans before deciding how often you will use Live View, remote playback or uploads.

Can the BlackVue SIM card be switched from one dash cam to another if the customer has a fleet of cameras?

A SIM can be moved only when the replacement camera or LTE module is compatible and the carrier allows the change. For a fleet, label each SIM and camera, confirm the Cloud plan's device allowance and test every reassignment before deployment.

In which particular locations can I activate the BlackVue SIM Card?

Availability depends on the SIM provider, supported bands and local carrier coverage. Confirm service in the country and region where the vehicle will operate rather than assuming that a plan works everywhere.

What if I don't want to use the BlackVue SIM Card?

You can connect a Cloud-ready BlackVue to a compatible external LTE module, a vehicle hotspot or a separate mobile hotspot. The camera needs a stable internet connection whenever you want remote Cloud access.
