What is the difference between the DR770X and the DR970X?
The primary difference is resolution. The DR970X records in 4K UHD, while the BlackVue DR770X records in Full HD. However, the DR770X offers a smoother 60FPS framerate on the front camera (compared to 30FPS on the 4K model), which can be better for capturing fast motion.
Do I need the LTE module?
The LTE module is optional. The camera works perfectly as a standard Wi-Fi dash cam without it. However, if you want to use BlackVue Cloud features like Remote Live View and Impact Notifications while you are away from the car, you will need the CM100G LTE Module and a SIM card.
Does this camera record when I am parked?
Yes. The BlackVue DR770X-2CH includes a hardwiring kit in the box. When installed, it enables Parking Mode to monitor your vehicle. It automatically detects impacts and motion, saving footage to the memory card.
Why is 60FPS important?
Standard video is recorded at 30 frames per second. By recording at 60FPS, the BlackVue captures twice as much visual data every second. This reduces motion blur significantly, making details like license plates clearer when vehicles are moving at high speeds.
Can I use a third-party SD card?
BlackVue dash cams are optimized for high-endurance cards. While some third-party cards may work, we strongly recommend using a high-quality memory card (like BlackboxMyCar Guaranteed) to prevent gaps in recording. The unit supports an SD card up to 1TB.
Is it hard to install?
