BlackboxMyCar donates over $5,000 to RAPS to support their 2026 Vehicle Lottery — Meet the Winners!

It’s hard to believe it, but it’s been nearly six years since we first launched our BlackboxMyCar Cares community giveback initiative! Through this initiative, we have been able to support various causes and community organizations across Canada and the U.S., including frontline workers during the height of COVID, the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, B.C. Children's Hospital Foundation, and the Regional Animal Protection Society (RAPS), with over $60,000 worth of donations and counting. Your support makes these contributions possible, and we are committed to continuing these efforts.

2026 marks our third year of supporting RAPS, which was sparked by an email we received in late 2022 from one of our customers. This customer, who has purchased dash cams and installations from us for both himself and his family, turned out to be the brother of RAPS CEO Eyal Lichtmann, asking if we could support them with dash cams for their fleet vehicles.

In January 2023, Joseph met with Eyal at the RAPS Animal Hospital, and we donated Thinkware U1000 2-channel dash cams and PowerCell 8 battery packs, along with installations for its fleet of vans and SUVs, officially kicking things off. Since then, we’ve followed up by donating over $12,000 in dash cam packages for its partnership with Postmedia Network’s Support-and-Buy-Local Auction, and over $26,000 in dash cams and accessories to be sold at its thrift stores.

When RAPS announced its 2026 Vehicle Lottery last year, as part of its ongoing fundraising efforts, we knew we also had to get involved. While those who enter could have a chance of winning a 50/50 cash draw or the grand prize of a brand-new 2026 Nissan Leaf from Applewood Nissan, we wanted to contribute with a donation that could provide more value than either of those prizes to some lucky winners.

We donated three dash cam prize packages totalling over $5,000 in value, each consisting of a VIOFO A329S 2CH dash cam, HK6 hardwiring kit, 64GB microSD card, and PowerCell 5 battery pack, along with a professional installation at our Richmond, BC headquarters. These donations were awarded to three early bird winners who purchased prize tickets on November 1, 2025, entering them for an exclusive chance to win these packages.
