What is Parking Mode?

Parking mode is offered on most of the dash cams available at BlackboxMyCar. While it is important to protect your vehicle while driving, it is just as important to have your vehicle protected while it is parked. When the dash cam is in parking mode, footage will only be saved when there is an impact and/or motion. Parking mode can be enabled with a hardwiring kit or a battery pack.

For more information on parking mode, click here.

What is a Hardwire Kit?

A hardwiring kit enables parking mode. It allows your dash cam to remain powered on even when the vehicle's ignition is turned off. Installation is a breeze as you will only need to find an accessory fuse, constant fuse, and a grounding point.

What is a Battery Pack?

Most customers purchase the battery pack to avoid using the vehicle’s battery to power their dash cam. The battery pack is charged by either being hardwired into an accessory fuse or by being plugged into one of the vehicle's 12-volt cigarette sockets. We recommend the hardwiring the battery pack as it charges the battery pack quicker.

For more information on Battery Packs, click here.

How much footage will my memory card store?

On average, a 2-channel dash cam writes 16GB/hour and a 1-channel dash cam writes about 8GB/hour.

Do I need a Rear Camera?

Accidents or events don't always happen at the front of the vehicle! Having a rear camera provides coverage for any events or accidents that may happen at the rear of the vehicle.

For more information on rear view cameras, click here.

Do I need a IR Rear Camera?

An IR camera is designed to record the interior of the vehicle in low light conditions. This option is very popular among rideshare drivers.

For more information on why rideshare drivers need dash cams, click here.

What is a CPL filter?

A CPL filter attaches to the dash cam lens to eliminate lens flares, light reflections, and windshield glares.

I've had the Viofo 119 v3 for almost 2 years and never once had an issue, use a 256 gb card and the hardwire kit, everything about it is great, so I'm trying the 129 duo plus, have had it for a week and the rear cam is great to have, so far so good, picture quality is great during day and night, and the uv lens along with the hardwire kit and you'll never have to worry, this camera has not only caught people around my truck but has also come in handy for all the stupidity on the roads today, have had a few different dash cams, and so far Viofo has out topped them all. Thanks blackboxmycar, I'm enjoying the dashcam very much.

Well worth the money.

Short and sweet review. Great product works great. Video quality is very good more than enough to give your insurance company the video. Already told a few friends how good this is. I would gladly purchase again.

The A129 Plus is mostly a well designed dash cam

The set up was easy and the wire lengths were adequate for a medium size SUV. The instructions were intuitive and quite clear too. Setting up and using was relatively straightforward and the picture and sound qualities are good.

Only downsides is the rear to front wire connecting the rear camera to the front has only one 90 deg angled micro USB connection but it would have been useful to have this at both ends. Why? Because you are running the wire across the rear windscreen too, just like at the front.

Another minus is the windscreen electrostatic tape. If you try to stick this to a hatchback, after a few closes, it will fall off. That's because you have the heater wires that don't make it stick without gaps and every thump to close the hatch just moves the electrostatic sticker off the windscreen.

Overall, I will still recommend this dashcam as so far, it works well and records everything. I will surely update this review later after a year, and as I use this dashcam. For the price and its capabilities, it's really good to buy.
