Over the past week, we were able to go observe the hardwire install of one of our dashcams onto a brand new Toyota SUV.
As you can see in the pictures, a proper hardwiring install helps to hide all wires, resulting in a very clean and effective dashcam install.
With a hardwire, not only are all cables tucked nicely, but you are able to take advantage of the parking mode that is offered by some dashcams; allowing the dashcam to record even when the car is turned off.

First, make sure to find out which fuses to look for in the fusebox. Connect the yellow wire to the headlight fuse, and the red wire to the ACC.
Mount the front camera in the front windshield.
Attaching the co-axial cable from the front unit, run the wiring through the inside of the headliner with the use of a trim remover tool, tucking the wires neatly inside so that it can't be seen by the naked eye.
The green line gives an idea of how the wire runs through inside the headliner.
By using a pry tool, it makes tucking wires in much easier. This shows the wiring going towards the rear dashcam.

Mount the rear dashcam near the top of the rear windshield, with the wires going along the inside for a clean, hidden install.
Alas, the car is now fully equipped and hardwired with a dashcam.
